Sci Fi Saturday – The Wasp Women

This classic science fiction film from 1959 was directed and produced by Roger Corman (who also has a cameo role in the film, playing a doctor). To pad out the running time when the film was released to television two years later, a new prologue was added to the film by director Jack Hill.

From Hill's prologue, which did not appear in the film, we learn that a scientist, Dr. Eric Zinthrop, is fired from his job at a honey farm for experimenting with wasps.

Meanwhile, Janice Starlin, the founder and owner of a large cosmetics company, is disturbed when her firm's sales begin to drop. It seems that she alone has been the sole model for the cosmetics she sells but with years come age, an ememy of the cosmetics firms who strive for youthful products. But all of that changes when Ms. Starlin meets Dr. Zinthrop. Find out what happens in, The Wasp Women!

Sci Fi Saturday

Planet of Dinosaurs is a 1977 science fiction film. Set in an unspecified future, the film follows the journey of Captain Lee and his crew after they crash land on a planet with similar life conditions as Earth, but millions of years behind in time. The film's director, James K. Shea, instructed most of the budget to be spent on the special effects for the film, which included an array of award-winning stop motion dinosaurs, leaving little money for props or even to pay the main actors.
